Just a few answers to some popular questions
How discreet is your filming ?Being unobtrusive as possible is a high priority. When possible we work in the background of your wedding day. Our aim is to capture the day as naturally as possible, so this often means standing back from the action and using the zoom on the camera. Do you film while we are eating ?
We feel that your guests may feel uncomfortable being filmed whilst enjoying their meal. What we try to do is position ourselves discreetly away from the main tabled area during the latter stages of your reception when guests are more relaxed. From there we can informally capture random images which will provide a short 'flavour' of the reception (pardon the pun). Can I have my own choice of music ?
Yes, you are able to choose your own music. Video DVD Length ?
We tend not to make 2-3 hour long epic wedding DVD's, although if necessary, not a problem. Your wedding DVD should be entertaining and in our experience, on average most DVD's run for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Do you provide the original source footage/video ?
On average around 5 to 7 hours of video per wedding day will be filmed. Therefore the actual source tapes can be included when your completed wedding video DVD's are delivered. An additional fee would apply. How far in advance should I book ?
If possible try to book our services at least a year in advance, especially if your wedding is on a weekend during the summer months. Do you use lights ?
Very rarely is additional lighting used. The professional cameras we use can easily handle most filming situations. Some directed light may be used during your first dance depending on the venue ambient room lighting. How soon after the wedding will I receive the video DVD ?
We can normally deliver your completed DVD's within one month of your Wedding day. Sometimes during the summer months it can take up to 8 weeks, but our aim for most weddings is 3-4 weeks. Can I be involved in the editing process ?
The editing of a wedding video takes many hours therefore it's simply not practical, the final edit must be entrusted to us. You will however receive a review copy prior to final duplications. This is your opportunity to let us know of any amends and additional requests you may require. Do you use freelancers ?
NO. we believe that generally, freelancers inexperienced in filming wedding events should not be employed. It's a creative process and you need to be able to anticipate how the footage is to be edited at a later stage. Weddings are obviously filmed live, you can't ask for a take two for the camera. We only trust our own in-house creativity, technical knowledge and experience. Can we see some of your recent work ?
Yes you can. Simply get in touch and either arrange to visit us in Carlisle or alternatively request a sample DVD. What happens in the event of staff illness?
We're only human and this could happen, although never has in the past ten years we've been filming weddings. However we have a network of locally based trusted professional wedding videographers who could step-in to fullfil our commitments if required. Do you have insurance?
Yes we do. Public, Employee and Indemnity over. Will you want feeding ?
Although most clients offer, we tend to kindly decline. There's always a bit of time during the latter stages of the day when we can have a rest and grab a bite to eat. Do you travel ?
Yes we do. Our reputation via recommendation has meant that we work extensively throughout the UK.
